Kim Soo Hyun of KBS' drama" Dream High" |
Guess who is the poster boy of Korean Tourism?
Kim Soo Hyun.
Whuh? We originally saw Kim Soo Hyun in Dream High (my favorite) as the reluctant hero who rises from a country bumpkin to a Rain-like K-pop superstar. You may have even seen him in Giant or as a child star in dramas such as, Father's House, Will it Snow for Christmas? or Jungle Fish. But his following has been gathering a storm since MBC's drama ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun‘ hashim in the lead and has hit the international market with swift rise. The show has already made its mark in "seven countries throughout Asia including Japan, China (Hong Kong), and Singapore, and has received over 100,000 views on China’s online video site, PPTV." records All-Kop and Korea.com. Due to his recent international popularity, the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) appointed the star as their ambassador.

Kim Soo Hyun's already in the lineup for two films this year. The Thieves is said to be an all-star cast in a film that's said to be the Ocean's Eleven of Korea. The Secret of Greatness is another film he'll be in, so keep your eyes peeled. Will he continue to rise or fall? So far, Korea Tourism has their eye on him
